Capitol Theatre - Campbell Street, Sydney
One of the oldest and most respected theatres in Sydney, the Capitol
primarily houses major commercial musicals. It has been a theatre since the 1920's but
underwent a major refurbishment in the 1990's.

Theatre Royal - King Street, Sydney
One of the oldest theatres in Sydney. The Theatre Royal is still in
solid use though is rarely used for full-blown commercial musicals. Smaller musicals or
plays are generally its main attractions.

Q Theatre - High Street, Penrith
The Q Theatre hosts primarily touring productions, from companies such as Bell Shakespeare
and the Sydney Theatre Company. The venue is one of the most contemporary in regional
theatre.
Parking: Plenty, free of charge.
Lyric Theatre - Star City Casino, Pyrmont
The most used theatre in Sydney, the Lyric Theatre is the primary
house for major commercial musicals in Sydney. Its advantage is its prime location inside
the popular Star City Casino.
Parking: Underground parking available.
State Theatre - Market Street, Sydney
A theatre used for concerts and special events primarily, the State
still houses its fair share of major commercial musicals. Its prime city location in a
vibrant part of the CBD makes it one of Sydney's best.
Parking: QVB car park is best
option.
Star Theatre - Star City Casino, Sydney
Previously the Star City Showroom, the Star Theatre was created in
early 2008 but lasted less than a year in its current form. After staging The Rocky Horror
Show, it was announced it would no longer house major commercial musicals. The theatre
does still stand, however.

Belvoir Street Theatre - Belvoir Street, Sydney
The Belvoir Street Theatre is the primary venue used by Company B and B Sharp, two Sydney
theatre companies. It is rarely used by outside hirers, though the B Sharp program is
co-produced with outsiders.

Newtown Theatre - King Street, Newtown
A smaller theatre, the Newtown Theatre generally houses independent
theatre productions. No company specifically produces its plays at the Newtown, which
seats around 100 audience members.
