MIRANDA MUSICAL SOCIETY

Strathfield Musical Society
Miranda Musical Society
Shire Music Theatre

Miranda Musical Society Inc is a community non profit organisation, well renowned in the Sutherland Shire and throughout Sydney. Our objective is to stage high quality musical productions.

Our multi talented members contribute to all facets of our stage productions, both on and off stage. They are involved in a myriad of tasks ranging from costuming, designing, building and painting sets, lighting, properties, selling tickets, seating patrons, making and selling refreshments and so on, the ability to sing, dance or perform is not a requirement. Like any other club, members pay a minimal yearly membership fee and a show fee per production if they are performing (for insurance purposes).

We rehearse in Como School of Performing Arts usually on Tuesday and Friday nights. Each year we stage 3 productions at either the Sutherland Entertainment Centre or at the smaller Sutherland School of Arts theatre.

New members are always welcome! If there is a show you would love to be a part of please contact us. We are always interested in hearing what performers and the general public are keen to be involved in.

Performers are encouraged to contact us about an audition. Non-performing members are also welcome to contact us.

We encourage you to visit our website www.mirandamusicalsociety.com.au for more information.

JUNE 2006

Join MMS for the society wedding of the year!

The flowers have arrived, the champagne is on ice, and the guests the press and the paparazzi are assembling.

All they need now is for the bride to choose the groom….

Adapted from one of Hollywood’s best loved movies, Cole Porter’s classical music is a giddy blend of corking songs, fizzing one liners and champagne-fuelled farce.

This musical has a 'swinging' and thoroughly entertaining score. Cole Porter combines energy and pace adding pizzazz to an already sparkling performance.

Influenced by Jazz and Swing High Society is the way musicals should be - emotive, passionate with catchy lyrics that leave you humming and singing all the way home.

Musical numbers include - 'Well Did You Evah?', 'Now You Has Jazz', 'Hey, Good Lookin', 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire', 'I Love You, Samantha', and 'High Society'.
